EricSocia.net Is NOT Dead!!
by Eric SociaI realize that it’s been a long time since I written anything here, and let me just assure you… There is a VERY good reason for this. I’ll talk about that reason in one of the next few posts, as it’s fairly involved and will probably make for a pretty long post.
For now, I have just one or two things to talk about.
First, I wanted to say that even with no new content over the past couple of weeks, my Alexa ranking has been steadily climbing and is currently in the 400,000 range. I’m pretty excited about that. Unfortunately, however, this does not change the fact that I am still living without a PageRank. Sad Eric. 
Also, I decided to try signing up for Kontera, which for those who don’t know, is an link-within-text ad program. Basically, you write a post/article, publish it, and the Kontera script automatically creates ad links inside your content by picking out keywords from the text and turning them into links. When a reader clicks one of those links, you get paid. It’s somewhat similar to Google’s Adsense, but it’s much more integrated into your website/blog content. I highly suggest trying it out. I finally installed the Kontera Wordpress plugin today, and am quite satisfied with how it looks. The links are very unobtrusive.
Anyway, I just wanted to let everybody know that I am indeed still alive and this is BY NO MEANS now or going to become a dead blog. I have NOT given up. I’ve just been very busy lately and as I said earlier, I’ll explain in an upcoming post my main reason for being away for so long.
Until then, keep coming back because I’m finally not as busy as I have been recently, so I’ll be posting more frequently from now on.

Hey Eric, sorry to hear you’ve been tied up - it happens to the best of us! Maybe have a few posts written and saved as drafts, and then you can timestamp whenever need be?
Anyway, that’s cool that you installed Kontera, but I don’t see any of the ads on your blog. Maybe I’m just blind or something. Hehe.

lol, that was one good things about several years ago when we all just had static websites … you never felt the need to apologize when you couldn’t get online for a couple days
Those Kontera ads are interesting. I’ve seen them on a number of blogs. I’ve never been interested enough to actually click on any of the pop-up links. But, I really didn’t find them to be as annoying as I might have expected either.

I’m glad to hear you’re not dead…not so glad to hear about Kontera. I’m not a fan. I understand why you want to try it out and I don’t blame you, but as a reader I’ve never liked the ads. There doesn’t seem to be too many on this page so maybe it won’t be so bad.
