How To Be A Neglectful Blogger In One Easy Step
by Eric Socia- COMPLETELY forget that you even have a blog/website for a good long time, and then remember, and come back to it, and write a post about how neglectful you’ve been.
- (OK, so there are two steps) Apologize profusely
Wow. I’m soooo sorry to those of you who’ve stuck around and kept coming back, and to those of you who’ve continuously left comments on the past few posts, and even some on older posts. I’m terribly, terribly, ridiculously sorry. I simply have no excuse whatsoever. I bought a new Pocket PC phone with an incredibly addicting Sprint plan that includes unlimited texts, unlimited data, etc., and 500 anytime minutes, all for just 30 bucks a month. MY PHONE HAS BEEN EATING MY LIFE AWAY SINCE THEN.
It’s absolutely amazing how obsessed I get with things, thus leading me to forget about other things.
To try and explain:
My phone is an HTC Titan, dubbed by Sprint as the HTC Mogul. It’s, as I said, a Pocket PC loaded with Windows Mobile 6. It is the most amazing thing I’ve owned so far. I can do just about anything with it. Currently, I’m using it to read the Bible. Yes, the entire Bible. No, I don’t consider myself Christian. Although I’m starting to think it may be time to give Christianity another shot. But that’s completely besides the point. The point, my friends, is that I am a slave to technology. And when I get my hands on something new (like my new phone) I simply cannot put it down and keep up with the other things in my life. At least, not at first. But as you can see, I’ve realized my mistake, and here I am.
I promised in a previous post that I would be here more often, typing out new stuff for y’all to read. I am sorry that I didn’t keep that promise. This time, I promise to simply try harder. I’ve realized that’s about all I can do at this point. Try.
I’m also up for a promotion at work, and that’s been kind of stressing me out a little bit. Getting prepared for interviews and whatnot.
So. With that out of the way…

Yea, I heard that. It does get old writing when there’s no one reading your blog. I should know. I have one blog that gets good readership, but no one posts comments. My newest project is a forum. Maybe I’ll get more interaction with that.
I’ve been there more times than I can count. But get back on the horse and you start feeling so much better:)

I have a blog. I check it twice a day. It is very time consuming. So I can understand how you neglected your blog. I actually see my readership goes up and down every other day. Not sure what this really means.
I love the wordpress feature that lets me cue up a bunch of posts and then they are only shown when the date I have specified occurs. Makes it look like I am blogging every day or every other day. Of course, if your blog is time sensitive, that may not work, but if it is not time sensitive, it works great.

I would not blame a bloggers those stop blogging for a while, I understand that they are like any of us having jobs to look after, family to take care of and they also need some time to have fun, the only situation that blogger must consistently blog is when he blogs to make live (professional blogger)

Hey, this happens to people all the time. I guess what really matters in life is how you bounce back from the falls (or so I’ve heard). But yes, I will agree…technology is a compelling distraction for anyone. I get lost in texting or surfing the web all the time and neglect the errands I really have to get done that day, OOPS!

I love the Wordpress feature which lets you queue up posts that can appear at the specified date and time. Let’s me do a bunch when I have time and they come out when I want them to. That’s one way that I get around not getting the blog updated regularly.
